Agitation on 29th June, 2010.

All the part-time, guest & contractual lecturers, from all over Bengal, are requested to be present in front of Bikash Bhavan on 29th June,2010 positively by 10am, for a large-scale agitation against the State Government, & demanding regularization for all the temporary college teachers, across Bengal. Shortly after this a meeting with the Higher Education Minister has been scheduled, though this appointment has to be confirmed on 28th June, incase the Minister devices enough excuses to cancel our appointment.

Shameful Conduct of the Higher Education Minister on 21st June,2010.

Yet another big feather in the cap of the West Bengal "humanitarian" government!!! After having tourtured, manhandled, & humiliated the highest professional section of the society, the temporary college teachers, for years, the "benign" West Bengal government, today on the 21st of May, 2010, enacted another such cunning stagecraft, when the Higher Education Minister, Mr. Sudarshan Roy Chowdhury, could not or rather did not, keep his appointment with the delegates of the college part-time lecturers, on purpose. He was however maliciously "kind" to inform the convenor, Mrs. Elora Biswas, only after hundred delegates from all parts of the state, wasting their precious time, energy & money waited for him in front of Bikash Bhavan for at least 45 minutes, that he was "sorry" for not being able to keep his appointment, as he had blissfully forgotten about it. It is surprising indeed, how the Education Minister of the state, himself having been a teacher once, could humiliate other teachers thus.Even a couple of days ago the appointment was confirmed from his office. The minister did not, for obvious reasons, bother to inform our Convenor before, about his incapability to keep the appointment, as this was quite pre-planned, just to humiliate more the teachers, whom the enlightened Left Government have considered to be the backbone of the society. The Minister was too busy to attend the 34th anniversary of the Left Front Government, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, which prevented him and his "educated" office from showing a little respect to the part-time teachers who had spent hours to assemble at the venue. It is frustrating indeed, that we have no other way of survival, except by appealing to this "inhuman" government for our honourable regularization.

Running out of Time:Not a moment to loose.

Dear part-time friends & associates, with the forthcoming State Bidhan Sabha polls close at hand, and anticipating or fearing that it may may held before the normal time, by the end of this current year, if adverse situations arise, our association has decided to organize several movements in quick succession within two months, to secure all our demands from the government. These two months of agitation & protest if organized in a planned way, may compel the government to think positively about us. Come, within this short period let us not loose moments idly & always keep close contacts with our district-level association leaders to know everyday details regarding our movement & participate in large numbers in these movements.
We need many more of our friends across Bengal to join our movement as soon as they can. Even the government cannot overlook our demands if we are unified. We need to build up a huge movement without wasting time.We have the full support of the electronic & print media by our side. What should we be afraid of ? Remember we will achieve nothing once the Election Commission announces the dates for the Assembly polls. Therefore, we should act very fast and turn ourself into a pressure group which may force the government to take up our case seriously, and confer upon us the status, the honour & dignity of full time teachers, which has already been given to the temporary school teachers of the state. This is not at all an easy task with powerful lobbies opposing us and constantly advising the government not to yield to our demands. So, realizing this grim present situation when many temporary college teachers are loosing their jobs everyday, across Bengal, let us not sit back at home casually, with the satisfaction that we are far from danger & everything is going to be fine. Remember friends, we cannot fight for our rights without our association; without an established platform. Can you sit back, rest assured that your name will not be in the list of the terminated teachers tomorrow? If not, without wasting a single moment immediately contact our association leaders like Elora Biswas, GourangaDebnath, Subhash Malakar, Subhasish Mukherjee, Hari Pradhan and others to know in details how you can be a part of our present movement, in order to enjoy a secure future.Remember friends, Now or Never. So, it is our sincere appeal to all our friends across Bengal, ACT FAST, JOIN OUR MOVEMENT TODAY.
