March against Govt decision on 11th March

The West Bengal Govt has decided to impose a restriction/ban on the democratic movements & agitations of College & University teachers, including that of part-time teachers. A bill, to this effect is going to be placed at the State Legislative Assembly in the current month. To protest against this forthcoming bill & in demand of a suitable pay-scale for all part time teachers, part time teachers across the state are requested at gather at Gariahat More, Kolkata, on 11th March,'12(Sunday) at 11 am. The protest rally will start from that place, after the teachers have assembled.

A March towards Economic & Social Freedom

 

Part-Time teachers from all over the State gathered at Subodh Mallick Squire, Kolkata on 24th Feb,'12 & marched to College Squire(Vidyasagar Udyan) as a mark of protest against Govt policy towards part-time teachers. The media thronged procession demanded regularization of Salary & a respectable pay-scale for all. The exploited teachers, deprived of their salary for nearly a year now, gathered at College Squire, fanned the picture of HE Minister, which they had done all throughout the procession, as a gesture of painful mockery to prove that though they try to sustain & nurture the HE system in the state, to their full capacity, by providing unquestionable service(as attendants who fan their lavish masters, without caring for their own improvement, & the master blissfully sleeps on) to the Govt, yet their efforts go unappreciated & unrecognized. Later, a team moved to Bikash Bhavan, to submit a deputation at the HE Ministry.

March of Protest on 24th Feb,'12

Our dear friends & associates from all over Bengal are requested to assemble at Subodh Mallick Squire(Wellington Squire), Kolkata on 24th Feb,'12(Friday) at 9.45am, in demand of cancellation of the humiliating Govt plan to dishonour the part time teachers, pay scale for all, & a regular monthly salary for all part-time teachers. The assembled teachers will move in a procession to College Squire. Later a deputation will be submitted at Higher Education Ministry, Govt of West Bengal.

Submission of deputation at Chief Minister's Secretariat

Mrs Elora Biswas, in a fruitful one hour discussion at Chief Minister's Secretariat, submitted a deputation to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Ms Mamta Banerjee, at Writers' Building, Kolkata, on 30th Jan, '12. Later Biswas reported that she had held positive talks at the Secretariat, in favour of all the part-time teachers of the State.

Assemble at Raja Subodh Mallick Squire, Kolkata, on 30th Jan

To protest against the govt policy of exploitation towards part-time teachers that led to the tragic & untimely death of Prof. Agnibina Deb of Garia Sammilani College, Kolkata & in demand of pay scale for all categories of part-time teachers,all the part-time teachers across Bengal & well wishers of our association are requested to gather at Raja Subodh Mallick Squire(Wellington Squire, Central Kolkata),Kolkata on 30th Jan,'12 (Monday) at 11am. We shall then proceed together towards College Squire & gather near Vidyasagar Statue(Opposite to C.U-College St. Campus). There our mode of action & future course of movement will be declared by leaders of the association. A special programme will also be organized at the venue, on the part-time issue. From there our representatives will proceed towards Writers Building to present a deputation to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Ms Mamta Banerjee. All part-time teachers across Bengal are requested once again to join this march on 30th Jan,'12, in protest of our humiliation & exploitation in the hands of the Govt. All our members are requested to circulate/forward this message to other part-time teachers, in the the colleges & universities of Bengal.
